Singleton, Bastin bring Lincoln state track titles

 

First state championships by Lincoln girls’ track athletes

Lincoln County’s Lucy Singleton and Abby Bastin have brought the first state track championships to Lincoln County High School by girls’ track athletes.

Singleton brought home first place in the 800 meters, and Bastin took top honors in the 1600 meters. Singleton and Bastin were also a part of the group that placed fifth overall in the 4×800 meter relay.

In other results, Lincoln students did well in several events. Results are below.

Girls
• 4×800 meters – 5th place (Abby Bastin, McKenzie Settles, Shayley Reed, Lucy Singleton)
• 1600 meter – Abby Bastin, 1st place
• 800 meter – Lucy Singleton, 1st place – Abby Bastin placed 8th in the event.
• 4×200 meter – 17th place ( Constance Johnson, Bailey Story, Maddy Slone, McKenzie Settles)
• Discuss – Suzan Johnson got 8th place
• Shot Put – Germani Crosby got 8th place. Suzan Johnson got 20th.
Boys
• 1600 meters – Baylor Mattingly got 16th place.
